U.S. Funds Renovation of Hematology Clinic in Skopje

On November 14, Ambassador Kate Byrnes joined Minister of Health, Dr. Venko Filipche, and the Director of the University Clinic for Hematology, Dr. Irina Panovska-Stavridis to mark the beginning of the $794,000 U.S. Overseas Humanitarian Disaster Assistance and Civic Aid (OHDACA) funded renovation of the Hematology Clinic in Skopje.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Byrnes noted the United States’ longstanding commitment to the health and welfare of the people of North Macedonia.
The project will include the addition of a new level to the existing Hematology Clinic building that will add new facilities to the clinic, including a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit, a day hospital for transplant patients, an area for preparing chemotherapy, and an inpatient department.
