The entry period for the U.S. Diversity Visa-2022 program will begin at noon, Eastern Daylight Time, on October 7, 2020, and closes at noon, Eastern Standard Time, on November 10, 2020. Applicants can access the electronic DV entry form (E-DV) at the official website dvprogram.state.gov, which has complete instructions.
There is no fee to enter the program. Applicants are encouraged to prepare and submit their entries early. Applicants may use a third party to submit entries on their behalf. However, each applicant remains responsible for ensuring that the submitted information is correct and complete. Incorrect or missing information may disqualify an applicant even after selection as a lottery winner. Whether an entry is submitted by the individual directly, or assistance is provided by a third party like an attorney, friend, or relative, only one entry may be submitted in the name of each individual. Multiple entries for the same individual will result in disqualification from the program.
Each applicant should print and retain the online confirmation page after completing a DV entry in order to review her or his entry status. Moreover, each applicant should keep a record of her or his unique confirmation number at least until September 30, 2022 regardless of initial selection. This number is the only way to check whether or not an applicant has been selected.
Starting May 8, 2021, applicants may check if they have been selected for the program.
