The United States Provides Donation Worth $160,000 to Support North Macedonia’s Efforts to Combat the COVID-19 Pandemic

The U.S. Embassy through the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the Department of Justice ICITAP provided a donation worth over $160,000, to the Ministry of Interior, Protection and Rescue Directorate, and the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia to support North Macedonia’s efforts to combat the COVID -19 pandemic. The donation of hand sanitizers, disinfectants, power generators, reflectors, portable work lights, flashlights, headlamps, electronic thermometers, water tanks, laptops and other equipment will help these institutions function in a more efficient manner in the face of the pandemic and protect the health of their employees and the citizens they serve.

At the donation handover event, Ambassador Kate Byrnes underscored the contributions by North Macedonia’s police force, Protections and Rescue Directorate and the Red Cross staff who have been at the forefront of the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
