Macedonia will hold parliamentary elections on Sunday, December 11. While recent elections in Macedonia have been peaceful, election-related disturbances are possible.
The U.S. Embassy urges all U.S. citizens to be aware of election-related events on December 11and to avoid large crowds, protests, and rallies when possible. U.S. citizens should heed the advice of local officials who are responsible for the security and safety of all visitors to Macedonia.
U.S. citizens should also review the most recent security information from the Department of State, including the European Travel Alert of November 23 and the Worldwide Caution of September 13.
