U.S. Embassy Skopje informs U.S. citizens that on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 5:00 p.m., “Coalition with the Macedonian People” will march in Skopje to demand the Macedonian President revoke the mandate entrusted to Prime Minister Zoran Zaev. Demonstrators will gather in front of the European Union Mission on St. Cyril and Methodius Boulevard and will march to the Presidential Residence through Mother Teresa Boulevard and Aco Karamanov Street.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.

Review your personal security plans; remain aware of your surroundings, including local events; and monitor local news stations for updates.  Maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security.
