On April 8, 2022, Deputy Chief of Mission Eric Meyer opened a justice sector symposium on improving timely justice and called on the judiciary to combat impunity and enforce equality under the law. DCM Mayer joined Justice Minister Nikola Tupanchevski, chief judges and prosecutors, defense lawyers, and NGOs who discussed strategies to fix the systemic flaws causing delayed justice. The Association for Criminal Law and Criminology hosted the conference, with support from the U.S. Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Section, the Ministry of Justice, and the Academy for Judges and Prosecutors.
